WEBINAR - The Role of Electronic Medical Records

John Schneider of Avalon Health Economics, along with KDC Past President, Mitch Hall of VanAntwerp Attorneys, will present the next KDC CLE Webinar:  "The Role of Electronic Medical Records".    

EMRs add a layer of complexity in litigation, particularly regarding discovery in medical malpractice and personal injury cases.  There are myriad challenges in working with EMRs, including: (1) heterogeneity of EMR systems and system configuration, (2) lack of consistency as to what constitutes a “full record”—what exactly should we request in discovery?, and (3) the extent to which EMR data has been “edited,” updated, or “cut and pasted."
